HI guys,
Today, i'm going to explain how to use normal items to put out a candle flame.
ITEMS you will need
1)Vinegar
2)Baking Soda
3)Candle
4)Lighter
5)Bottle
Procedure
1)Place one tablespoon of Baking Soda into the bottle
2)Now light the candle with the lighter
3)Then pour the vinegar into the bottle and shake
4)place the bottle's mouth near the candle flame and watch.
Why does this happen? Well, this is because Vinegar is actually a organic acid called acetic acid. When Acids are mixed with carbonates (baking soda a.k.a sodium bicarbonate), carbon dioxide and water is produced. The more acid you add, the more carbon dioxide and water is produced. In the video below, the water produced is very little as the amount of vinegar and baking soda is very little. The carbon dioxide produced by the mixing of baking soda and vinegar escapes the bottle and blows out the candle.
